Dear future and present pilots interested in Mach Six,

I had the distinct pleasure of flying with Mach Six. My CFI taught me what I need to know to be a safe and continually learning pilot. I thoroughly enjoyed my training experience with Mach Six.

My CFI was qualified and capable of flight instruction for first time beginners....to seasoned pilots, and pilots seeking higher ratings. His mannerisms and abilities helped my wife become a willing and interested passenger and helper in planning and flying safely.

His style of teaching ground school subjects made me feel like I was in a university. It was very thorough, proper, and well explained. It balanced very nicely with the knowledge base I was building with proprietary on line ground school. His style of teaching was right out of this philosophy: “Give a man a fish....he is fed for a day. Teach a man how to catch a fish...he is fed for a lifetime.”

While in the air with my CFI I was 100% comfortable...his flying abilities are second to none...period. He clearly let me “spread my wings” with him sitting right seat. He would first demonstrate the maneuvers.....and VERY IMPORTANTLY explain why the maneuvers were relevant. Other CFI’s I flew with really didn’t want to explain things like.… why we practice power on stalls.

He would then allow me the controls and guide me appropriately to make corrections as needed. HE WAS NOT CONDESCENDING. He was flat out the most helpful CFI. He spent as much time and energy as was needed for me to do the maneuvers.

Due to his training I nailed the steep banked 360 turn with flying colors. When it came for the “check ride” ie practical examination.… my CFI was “Johnny on the Spot”.... it is a complex process to arrange for a very important person.... Designated Pilot Examiner ie D.P.E. to give the exam. My CFI prepared me with his entire being.....the plane logbooks...the exam room...special books to read... The ACS comes to mind.... ”Airmen’s Certification Standards”. He truly cares about his students.

Other CFI’s that were around my CFI and I were very helpful. We had very open and sincere learning sessions with them in the hangar. They recognized a fine aviator and clearly wanted to be around my CFI.

I consider my CFI to be a friend for life. My name is Walt Winfrey.”
